First Weeks of Figure Drawing

Drawing overhand was rough the first several weeks, it was like learning how to draw all over again! These next few pictures are from a class I am taking with a great artist and equally great teacher Sergio Sanchez ( http://www.sergiosanchezart.com/ ).

Back to school!

I actually wrote this on Nov. 1st but I figured it would be a good place to start ... Over the past several months I have been toying with the idea of taking some traditional painting classes or figure drawing classes somewhere. As it turns out, while I was looking through the internet for such a place in L.A. to take a few classes I came across The Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art (great website check it out www.laafa.com or www.myspace.com/laafa ). So three weeks ago the were holding an open house event and I decided to attend and check out the studio. To put it lightly I was blown away at the quality of work of the staff and students there. So much so that I decided to sign up for 4 classes (the fourth class was 50% off ). Classes just started this past Monday and all the teachers are great! I can't wait for the next classes. Time to sharpen some Conte pencils and get back to my smooth news print!
